STV Machine at ALLPack Indonesia 2026
ALLPack Indonesia 2026 has come to a close. For four days, from 20 to 23 October, the STV Machine team welcomed visitors to Hall A1, Booth AR33 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, together with our partner PT Jayapak Sinar Abadi. Thank you to everyone who stopped by.
Situation: a home-market show with a clear focus
Now in its 25th edition, ALLPack Indonesia brings together processing and packaging for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. For STV Machine, it is a home-market show. Our service and demo hub in Sentul, Bogor, is just outside Jakarta, and Jayapak is our parent company.
The machine that drew the most attention was the CombiLab 5, our dryer, granulator and coater for R&D and lab-scale batches of 2–5 kg.
Observations: production teams asking about lab scale
A lab-scale machine might be expected to interest mainly R&D teams. But many of the conversations at the booth came from production teams.
Their questions followed a clear pattern. Most weren't asking whether the machine could replace production equipment. They wanted to know whether they could test a formulation at 2–5 kg before committing it to a full-scale run. A new product, a change of excipient, or a switch to a different granulation route can all carry risk, and finding a problem at production scale means losing a full batch of material and time.
That is where the CombiLab 5 fits. It combines drying, granulating and coating in one unit, and it is built with the same components as our production machines. What a team learns at 2–5 kg is more likely to carry over when the process moves up to the SD(GC) Series in production.
A familiar problem under the plate
A second pattern came up when visitors saw the CombiLab 5's cyclone airflow up close. Several of them run conventional fluid bed dryers in their own plants, and they described the same frustration: a worrying amount of waste powder trapped between the perforated plate and the wire mesh. Getting it out means taking the plate apart, and every gram left behind is lost product and a contamination risk at the next changeover.
The CombiLab 5 avoids this by design. Its Bottom Plate STV Disk Jet is a single 45-degree plate with very small air holes and no wire mesh, so there is no gap for powder to collect in. Achievements: trial runs at the top of the list
The clearest outcome of the show was interest in trial runs. Many of the conversations at the booth ended in the same place: visitors wanting to bring their own product and see how it performs before making any decision.
That's exactly how we like to work. A trial with a customer's own materials answers questions that no brochure can, and it gives both sides a realistic starting point for scaling up.
We're also grateful to the Jayapak team, whose relationships with Indonesian manufacturers brought many of these conversations to the booth.
Reflection: test first, then scale
ALLPack reminded us that the biggest concern for many manufacturers isn't the equipment itself. It's the risk of moving a formulation into production without enough evidence. A lab-scale machine that behaves like its production counterpart reduces that risk, and that is the conversation we want to keep having.
